1. Overview

Bluetooth Serial Connect is provided by Henry Abrahamsen. The app does not require an account and does not operate a developer-owned server for controller boards, Bluetooth messages, or purchase information. Boards and settings stay on your device unless you choose to export or share them.

The app uses Apple services for purchases and Google services for advertising and advertising privacy choices. Those providers process limited data as described below.

2. Data stored or processed on your device

• Boards and settings: board names, layouts, components, controller settings, onboarding progress, and monetization timing state are stored locally.
• Bluetooth devices: the app scans for nearby Bluetooth Low Energy devices and processes device names, iOS-assigned peripheral identifiers, service and characteristic UUIDs, connection state, and signal information. It keeps a local list of up to 12 recently connected devices.
• Serial communication: messages you send to or receive from connected hardware are processed on the device and exchanged directly over Bluetooth. They are not uploaded to the developer.
• Imported and exported files: when you use Files, AirDrop, or the share sheet, the file is handled by Apple and the destination you select. The app does not send it through a developer-owned server.

Local app data may be included in an Apple device or iCloud backup when you enable that feature. Apple controls those backups under its own privacy terms.

3. Bluetooth permission

Bluetooth access is used only to discover, connect to, and exchange serial controller data with compatible BLE hardware. The app does not use Bluetooth to determine your precise location and does not send Bluetooth data to the developer.

4. Advertising and consent

The free experience uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) for rewarded and interstitial ads and Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) for advertising privacy choices. The app requests non-personalized ads, disables Google's publisher first-party identifier, and does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission.

Google states that its Mobile Ads SDK may collect or process an IP address (which can be used to estimate general location), device or app identifiers, crash logs, performance data, ads viewed, ad interactions, app launch taps, and video views. Google may use this information for ad delivery and measurement, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and improving its services. The exact processing can depend on your region, device settings, consent choices, and Google's services.

At launch, the app asks UMP for the current consent status and requests ads only when UMP reports that ads may be requested. When Google requires an ongoing privacy entry point, Help > Privacy Choices appears so you can review or change those choices. Bluetooth Serial Pro disables ad loading after the App Store entitlement is confirmed; UMP may still refresh privacy status so applicable choices remain available.

5. Purchases

Bluetooth Serial Pro is a non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Apple through StoreKit. The app receives the product, transaction verification, and entitlement status needed to complete or restore the purchase. The developer does not receive your payment card number or Apple Account credentials. Apple's handling of purchase and account data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

6. Documentation website

This documentation website does not provide accounts, forms, advertising, or analytics, and its site code does not set tracking cookies. As with most websites, the hosting and network providers may receive standard request information such as IP address, browser or device type, requested page, and request time to deliver the site, maintain reliability, and protect it from abuse. Those providers control their own operational logs and retention.

7. When data is shared

The developer does not receive or sell your controller boards, Bluetooth messages, recent device list, or payment credentials. Data leaves the app only through services described in this policy: connected BLE hardware, Google for ads and consent, Apple for purchases and optional backups, website infrastructure for page requests, or a file destination you deliberately choose.

8. Retention, deletion, and withdrawing consent

• Delete individual boards and recent devices in the app. Deleting the app removes its local data from that device, subject to any Apple backup you control.
• The developer has no account or server copy of your boards, Bluetooth messages, or recent-device list to delete.
• Use Help > Privacy Choices when it is shown to change applicable Google advertising choices. You can also manage Apple and Google privacy settings through those providers.
• Apple, Google, and the website's infrastructure providers retain data under their own policies and legal obligations.

9. Children

Bluetooth Serial Connect is a general-purpose hardware utility and is not designed specifically for children. It does not ask for a name, email address, age, or account. A parent or guardian should supervise a child's use of connected electronics and should contact the developer if they believe personal information was provided unexpectedly.

10. Security and policy changes

The app limits developer-controlled data handling by keeping controller content local and using platform services for purchases and consent. No security method is perfect. This policy may be updated when the app, website, providers, or legal requirements change; the effective date above will be updated when that happens.
